Spectacular 3" x 5 3/4" news service photo of Jackie Robinson wearing the uniform of the Kansas City Monarchs. Though the photo was taken in 1945 the newspaper clip on the reverse indicates publication after 1947 when Robinson was already in the major leagues. The photo has been trimmed on all four sides with newspaper clips and newsroom markings on the reverse along with the unfortunate PSA/DNA decal. Early Type I images of Jackie Robinson are quite desirable and this is an outstanding clear photo. A beautiful "pre-rookie" photograph of one of the most important figures in American History.
