Gorgeous 1951 official Yankee Stadium scorecard in absolutely impeccable condition from Opening Day of the 1951 season: the first regular-season game of Mickey Mantle. Assigning a technical grade of NM would not be out of line; some minor wear to the corners and spine along with some even age-related toning being the primary flaws. The color is rich and bold with an unblemished cover. Given the significance of the game finding such a program in this condition is quite remarkable. Though the scorecard is unused the lineup printed in the centerfold is the giveaway: in only one of the matchups between these two teams did the lineups match those printed in the scorecard making dating a snap. The Yankees were victorious in the game by a 5-0 margin with Mantle singling home Phil Rizzuto with his only hit in four trips in the bottom of the sixth. Vic Raschi pitched a complete game for the Yankees scattering six hits and walking four an otherwise uneventful game. Amazing how eventful this game would become 60 years later as the debut game of one of the greatest and most popular players the game has ever seen.
