Moe Berg is one of the most interesting characters in all of sports. Extremely literate and articulate Berg was fluent in several languages and was known as an eccentric (none other than Casey Stengel called Berg the "Strangest man to ever play baseball." A weak-hitting catcher Berg joined major league players on the 1934 tour of Japan sneaking onto the roof of one of the tallest buildings in Tokyo and took photos for the CIA. Berg allegedly continued to serve as a spy during World War II. It is all the great stories about Berg as opposed to his playing skill that make him so widely collected. This card graded VG/EX 4 by PSA boasts strong eye appeal but corner rounding consistent with the grade. Still an excellent opportunity to acquire a card of one of the game"s most colorful characters.Population DataPSA Population: 334 total graded 74 at this level 146 higherSGC Population: 110 total graded 24 at this level 36 higher
