Extremely rare cuban issue distributed in 1930. The complete set consists of 90 small black-and-white player photos measuring just 5/8" x 7/8". The card reverses contain an advertisement for Baguer Chocolates and a complete album could be redeemed by collectors for baseball equipment candy or toys. As with many issues where a complete set qualified for a redemption offer one card - Mitchell Blake - was single-printed and is thus more rare than the rest of the set. Presented here is a complete album containing 70 of the cards affixed inside as well as two that have fallen out over time. The cards appear to be in varying condition with some surface and corner wear. Clearly we cannot speak to the condition of the card backs since they are affixed in the album. The rare album is significantly worn with one page torn off but still present along with clearly visible surface wear creasong and what is likely glue stains in the spaces where other cards once resided. We have found just one other example of a complete set being sold with the album an auction of material from the Richard Merkin Collection in 2012. A rare and significant collection of Cuban cards in their original album including the key Hall of Famers Babe Ruth Lou Gehrig Walter Johnson Jimmy Foxx and Rogers Hornsby. 72 cards total with album.
