Terrific-looking example of the Harry Howell T206 card from the collection of hobby pioneer Lionel Carter. Carter collected beginning in the later 1930s and stored his cards carefully in scrapbooks with the cards mounted with photo corners the result being a virtually pristine collection of high-grade cards from all eras. His collection was sold at auction in 2007 and his T206 set broken up. Today collectors covet cards from his collection partly because of the significance of possessing cards once owned by a hobby pioneer and partly because of their status us unaltered high-grade prewar cards.This well-centered example graded EX 60 by SGC does have softer corners (but well within the threshold of the grade) as well as some slight discoloration at the corners (particularly the top right) likely the result of the photo corner mounting. However the eye appeal of the card is fantastic with bold and vivid color. An outstanding example.
