Sharp extreme high-grade example of the first card of the Bills and Raiders quarterback. Known as "The Mad Bomber " Lamonica led the Raiders to four straight division titles and an AFL Championship and was named the AFL Most Valuable Player in 1967 and 69. At 90% Lamonica had the best-ever winning percentage in the American Football League.Due to contractual issues the 1964 Topps set included only AFL players. Not as widely collected as other Topps football issues from the 1960s the brightly-colored cards often suffer from centering issues and miscast this particular card exhibits extraordinary centering and bright color. An outstanding example of an unheralded card from a difficult set to obtain in high-grade.Population data:PSA Population: 344 total graded 23 at this level 2 higherSGC Population: 37 total graded 2 at this level none higher
