Beautiful real photo postcard signed by Hall of Fame shortstop Lou Boudreau in blue ink and mailed from Boston on September 17 of 1951. Nearing the end of his playing career Boudreau played in 82 games with the 1951 Red Sox the team he managed hitting .267. By 1952 he had stopped playing but continued to manage in the big leagues until 1960. An eight-time all-star he invented the infield shift as a way of defending the pull hitting of Ted Williams. Save for a smudge in Boudreau"s signature this is a beautiful card and signature authenticated and encapsulated by SGC Authentic.
