Graded FAIR 20 by SGC due to an owner stamp on the reverse as well as ink and dirt staining on the obverse this card of Cubs pitcher Orval Overall features the scarce Cycle 460 reverse only two graded examples of which are known. Overall posted a 108-71 record in his brief seven-year career forced into early retirement due to arm trouble. A big-game pitcher with a devastating curve Overall went 23-7 with a staggeringly low 1.68 ERA for the World Champion 1907 Cubs part of an incredible pitching staff that included Three-Finger Brown Ed Reulbach Carl Lundgren and Jack Pfiester. That staff compiled a team ERA of just 1.73 for the season. Overall pitched two of the five World Series games (Game 1 was played to a 3-3 tie) giving up two runs in 18 innings against a 1-0 record.Population DataSGC Population: 2 total graded 1 at this level 1 higherPSA Population: None graded* *Please note that PSA just recently began to differentiate between T206 back variations in their population reports so it is entirely possible that other examples of this card may have been graded by PSA and classified in their pop reports as "unknown back."
