The 1948 Leaf boxing set is one of the two post-World War II boxing sets issued by a major gum manufacturer. It consists of 49 different regular issue cards plus the T206 Wagner of boxing the Rocky Graziano. Printing quality is the biggest problem with 1948 Leaf cards. The company was notorious for press mistakes. We are pleased to offer a variety of cards representing the “best” of Leaf’s quality control: When the printers neglected to print the backside of a sheet these cards were the result. Offered are cards of John L. Sullivan Tony Canzoneri Melio Bettini and Sammy Angott with normal fronts and nothing on their backs.
