One of few "key" cards from the Stockton Find emanating from the 1915 set as opposed to the 1914 this example of Ty Cobb's #30 card has been graded VG 3 by PSA. The overall eye appeal of the card is tremendous however the caramel staining so often seen with Cracker Jacks is visible at the bottom border as well as on the reverse. Close inspection will reveal additional staining most of which remains restricted to the cream-colored borders of the card and not the image area of the card. Surely Ty Cobb is the subject of many of the hobby's most important and valuable cards many of which - his red-background T206 his T3 Turkey Red his gorgeously detailed T205 - are iconic cards in the hobby. His Cracker Jack card certainly deserves to be in the discussion however when it comes to determining which of Cobb's cards is the "quintessential" one. Depicting the Georgia Peach with his trademark split-handed grip the intensity in his eyes apparent even in the colorized illustrated photo of his Cracker Jack card. An exceptional original owner example of Cobb's Cracker Jack card fresh to the hobby.
