One of a magnificent collection of 1939 Diamond Stars premiums being offered individually or collectively as a complete set (#2 on the SGC Registry). In exceptional condition these oversized premiums were produced from photographs using a photo-lithograph process each a beautiful representation of both action and portrait shots of baseball heroes of the day. Each of the card versos feature illustrated diagrams to help youngsters improve their baseball fundamentals.The rarity of these cards in high grade cannot be properly described as the oversized photos were printed on flimsy thin paper. The cards are generally susceptible to general corner and edge wear along with folds pinholes and tape marks from Depression-era youngsters displaying the cards on their walls. This is one card in a magnificent collection of 1939 Diamond Stars Premiums one of the highest-grade collections of these cards that you will ever encounter. Whether the group sells as a complete set or as individual cards is up to the highest bidder(s).Hall of Fame shortstop Arky Vaughan of Pittsburgh has achieved a numeric grade of EX/NM 80 by SGC largely due to corner touches at the upper left and lower right. Vaughan one of the greatest shortstops of all-time with a lifetime batting average of .318 was four years removed from his great 1935 season (when he hit an amazing .385) by 1939 approaching the tail end of his career he would be traded to Brooklyn.
