Due to his unique name Silver Flint is one of the more widely-collected players of the 19th Century. A light-hitting catcher who spent most of his 13-year career with the Chicago White Stockings Flint is pictured here in front of the well-known Old Judge "stadium" backdrop posed with his hands on his hips in what is now qualified as N172 pose 163-3. Graded NM 84 by SGC there is just one N172 Flint (pose unknown) that has graded higher - an SGC 92. This example while exhibiting softer corners and a very modest discoloration at the upper left also boasts an extremely strong contrast. A wonderful example of the potential beauty of an N172 Old Judge.Population DataSGC Population: 45 total graded 4 at this level 1 higher*PSA Population: 5 total graded 0 at this level 0 higher*Please note that SGC does not differentiate between N172 pose variations in their population reports so the number of cards with this pose they have graded is unknown. The figure above represents all the cards of this player they have graded with all poses.
