I have one to sell!
Due to printing on very thin photographic type paper the T222 Fatima Cigarettes cards are extremely susceptible to condition flaws. Wrinkles and tears are common among these cards which are scarce to begin with. In fact of just 387 examples from this set to be graded by PSA more than 25% have been graded POOR or worse with just 4 examples grading above EX. Seeing these cards in poor condition is only uncommon in that seeing the cards in any condition is uncommon - surviving examples are usually severely worn.Such is the case with this example ungraded due to the torn upper-right corner. Definitely one of the set"s key cards this example of Grover Cleveland Alexander"s card is clearly in POOR condition preserved in a screw-down holder to keep the upper right corner intact. Missing paper and creasing help round out the card"s flaws as does pencil writing on the reverse but the bottom line is that the image quality remains strong and the back is still clean enough as to be legible. The fact remains that examples of this card in the lowest grades routinely approach $1 000 the few times they are sold with AUTHENTIC and POOR examples regularly eclipsing $500. Despite the card"s obvious condition flaws it remains incredibly difficult to find in any grade and extremely poor condition examples of it are the only examples even remotely affordable to the everyday collector.
