I have one to sell!
The 1964 Topps set is one of the more underrated of the 1960s. Without the key rookie cards of the 1963 issue the Hall of Fame power of the 1961 set or the beauty of the 1967 cards the 1964 set tends to be frequently overlooked. A close observation however yields a beautiful elegant deisgn crisp photography and an outstanding player selection. What's more the issue is susceptible to awful centering issues with many of the cards miscut from top to bottom right to left or even both. Presented here is an extraordinary complete 1964 set from our Texas find. The cards were very carefully mounted in their photo album keeping corner wear to a minimum. The photo album protected the cards from surface wear leaving the original color and gloss of the cards virtually unblemished. The result is a collection of beautiful colorful cards with very little wear centering being the primary condition issue with the cards (the collector clearly did not consider centering as a condition flaw as was the case with many collectors from that era). While the overall technical grade of the set may be in the EX to EX/MT range many cards would grade higher with centering reducing the technical grade of the lower-grade cards. We selected ten key cards for grading by PSA the results being as follows: #50 Mickey Mantle (PSA EX-MT 6) #125 Pete Rose (PSA EX-MT 6) #200 Sandy Koufax (PSA NM 7) #210 Carl Yastrzemski (PSA NM 7) #260 Frank Robinson (PSA NM 7) #300 Hank Aaron (PSA NM 7) #331 AL Bombers (PSA EX-MT 6) #390 Orlando Cepeda (PSA NM-MT 8) #423 Aaron/Mays (PSA GOOD 2 due to small ink stain on reverse) #440 Roberto Clemente (PSA EX 5). An outstanding set consigned by the family of its original owner. 587 cards total.
