Tougher card of Yankees infielder Phil Linz at the center of "The Harmonica Incident." Late in the 1964 season Linz sat on the back of the team bus upset at not receiving playing time. As the bus made its way to O'Hare airport Linz sat in the back playing the harmonica. Berra upset at the Yankees losses yelled back from the front of the bus in the direction of whomever was playing requesting they stop. Linz of course did not hear the Yankees manager. When he asked what Berra had said Mickey Mantle said "He said play it louder." Linz obliged causing Berra to race to the back of the bus and the manager and his player to come to near blows. Linz was fined $250 for the incident but received a $5 000 endorsement deal from Hohner the harmonica company. Yankees first baseman Joe Pepitone joked that Linz should have brought a piano on the bus because he would have made more money.
