I have one to sell!
December 20 1948 letter from Albert "Happy" Chandler to Gus Steiger of the Baseball Writers' Association of America accepting an invitation to their annual dinner and show in early 1949. In the letter Chandler accepts the invitation but declines the opportunity to speak at the dinner. The letter is in outstanding condition on perhaps the most interesting letterhead we have ever seen: no fancy graphics or corporate name the word BASEBALL emblazoned at the top of the page. Chandler's familiar signature is applied in blue ink at the close. Also included is an onion skin copy of the original invitation to attend and speak dated December 14 of 1948 and addressed to Chandler again of "Baseball." COA from James Spence Authentication.
