Spectacular political cartoon lithographic print on the centerfold of the Jun 18 1887 issue of Judge magazine. The baseball-themed print depicts members of Congress headed by Grover Cleveland at the plate facing up against the "pitcher" of the Labor Party. The caption reads "Sam Randall to Dave Hill - 'Dave we can't tackle that pitcher's curves and if we do not succeed in engaging him for next year we shall have no earthly show of winning the Presidential Pennant." The piece measuring 21" x 14" and still affixed to the magazine presents extremely well despite some very minor tears around the edges and at the spine. A wonderful display beautifully colorful and exceptionally topical.
