Measuring approximately 22 1/2" x 16 1/2" an this attractive 1903 centerfold from Leslie's Weekly chronicles the opening of the 1903 season at the Polo Grounds featuring large images from the game and from around the league. Featured in the display is a large photo of Giants pitcher Christy Mathewson portraits of league presidents Ban Johnson and John Brush and a number of other player vignettes spread out amidst action photos from the game itself. Condition presents VG though the piece does have several holes at the center where the staples once pierced the centerfold some mild separation of the paper at the center and some edge wear consistent with its age. Still a very attractive and historically meaningful display.
