Beautiful 16 1/2" x 12 1/2" photo of the Pittsburgh Athletic Club hockey team housed in a glass-free vintage frame. As notated on the reverse the team were three-time city champions between 1899 and 1901 winners of the "$500 Trophy Cup" which is ostensibly pictured amidst the team. The photo presents largely in EX condition with a visible scuff at the upper left also evidenced on the frame above it. The wooden frame is quite light and exhibits a variety of minor scuffs and abrasions. An outstanding vintage photo depicting an early hockey team.
