The 1950s ushered in the Golden Age of baseball cards, and along with it came a host of regional issues that captured the attention of collectors and never let go.  Even today, 1950s regional and non-mainstream issues remain immensely popular among collectors.  The Red Heart Dog Food set of 1954 is among the most widely-collected, due to its beautiful, simplistic design, its colorful cards and its incredible player selection.  With ten tough single-printed cards and 11 HOFers, this 33-card set boasts something that neither the Topps nor Bowman issues of that year can: a card of Hall of Famer Stan Musial.  Presented here is a strong example of 33 cards, six of which have been graded by SGC.  The cards are exceptional, each boasting a strong image and rich color, the primary condition flaws on all but the Musial related to centering.  A condition breakdown of the set would be 3% NM, 13% EX/MT, 38% EX, 28% VG/EX, 16% VG and the Musial (SGC FAIR 1.5).  Key cards grade as follows: Ashburn (SGC EX/MT 6), Fox (VG-EX), Kell (EX), Kiner (VG-EX), Mantle (SGC VG 3), Minoso (SGC EX/NM+ 6.5), Musial (SGC FR 1.5), Schoendienst (VG), Slaughter (EX), Snider (SGC EX 5), Spahn (SGC NM 7).  A beautiful, sharp set, one of the most beautiful of the decade in general.  33 cards total.
