Exceptional c.1913 original news service photo depicting Washington Senators first baseman, Chick Gandil, at League Park in Cleveland. Sepia toned photo has been crafted by Cleveland-based master lensman Louis Van Oeyen, with Gandil gripping a darkened baseball and sporting his early first baseman's mitt. Approx. 8" x 10" photo exhibits obvious damage present along the left and top edges with a large area of the upper-left corner torn away. An approximately .75" tear extends from the right edge towards Gandil's left knee. Dark staining appears along the top and right edges of verso consistent with damage to front. Van Oeyen's coveted personal credit stamping appears at center of verso with handwritten notations below. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
