Grouping of seven cards from the 1884 "Big White Shoes" trade card set, which features Victorian-era illustrations of players wearing - you guessed it - big, white shoes.  Each of the cards has a green/blue background, and each illustration is accompanied by a (not so) humorous, baseball-themed play on words.  Cards average G-VG with the exception of the "Score Another" card, which has been trimmed on all four sides, with an irregular cut on the right.  The "Style of Curve" card exhibits significant glue remnants on the reverse.  An attractive grouping of cards, missing just two for completion.  Please note that those two cards are listed as lot #425 in this auction, so a complete set can actually be obtained in this sale.
