Popular and beautiful trade card issue features illustrations of individual players set inside a blue border.  The cards are slightly larger than postcards, printed on thin stock, and were produced by the Buffalo, NY-based Cosack & Company.  There are 9 known positions represented (no card has been discovered for a right fielder), and are known to include advertising from a variety of different companies, but are also seen with no advertising at all.  Presented here is an attractive group, missing just the first baseman for completion.  All exhibit minor wear at the corners and edges.  As is the case with many trade cards, signs of scrapbook mounting on the reverse are evident, with tape remnants on the two blank-backed cards (shortstop and center field), heavier paper loss on the reverse of the third baseman.  As is also the case with trade cards, a few have signs of slight trimming, most notably the pitcher, which has been visibly trimmed at the top and bottom.  A pleasing, colorful grouping, eight cards total.
