Pair of approx. 8" x 10" photos depicting legendary athlete Jim Thorpe and former heavyweight champion, James Jeffries. Both men are depicted during later stages of their lives; Thorpe in his 50's and Jeffries in his 60's. Considerable handling wear is present to both examples, most of which can only be seen once these photos are titled to a light source. Includes: 1) Jim Thorpe and Jim Jeffries stand together with others for a photo. To the right of Jeffries stands Bill Skiff, manager of the Seattle Rainiers of the PCL. It's from Skiff's estate that this pair of photos originates. Reverse of photo remains heavily toned with a photographer's credit stamp near the right edge that reads "Photo by Charles F. Heath - Official Photographer for James J. Jeffries." 2) Jim Jeffries and Bill Skiff stand with former lightweight champion, Willie Ritchie, and former middleweight champion, Tommy Ryan, who trained Jeffries. All three fighters present are members of the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Both photos guaranteed Type 1.
