An incredibly enticing example from the 1951 Bowman issue, this portrait of Hall of Famer Richie Ashburn is a beautifully colorful entry in the set. Ashburn's red pinstriped uniform commands the canvas, with the green roof of the grandstand peaking out over his shoulders, just beneath the cloudy blue sky. The 24-year-old led the Major Leagues with a career-high 221 hits in 1951, earning his second All-Star appearance and finishing 7th in MVP voting.

Nearly perfect centering with sharp edges and corners have helped this offering achieve the grade it has. The whites are white, and the colors are bright and bold. Even the back is clean. You'll be hard pressed to find a better copy of this one.

Only 19 examples graded by PSA have ever received a higher grade than the NM-MT 8 offered here, but even two of those had qualifiers.
