First baseman Jim Powell played bits of two season in the majors and spent eight years trying to get back. Pictured here with the Sioux City Corn Huskers of the Western Association, Powell was 29 years old when this card was issued. Despite batting .292 with the 1889 Corn Huskers, Powell lasted just a couple more seasons as a player, serving a few more as player/manager. Despite the GOOD 2 grade assessed by PSA, the card looks far stronger, with the bulk of the visible wear relegated to the reverse.
