We have made the decision to break up an EXTRAORDINARY 1963 Topps set - the #4 Master Set on the PSA Set Registry. The 1963 set is a particularly difficult set to complete in high grade due to Topps' poor quality control in the era which resulted in considerable print defects. The large and colorful border at the bottom simultaneously lends a distinctive design element and a condition challenge, as they are extremely susceptible to chipping and wear.

The example offered here is card #284, Dave Sisler, graded MINT 9. His father, Hall of Famer George Sisler; and one of his brothers, Dick Sisler, also played baseball at the major league level; while another brother, George Sisler, Jr., was a general manager for several minor league baseball teams, and later became president of the International League from 1966 to 1976.

Dave's 1963 Topps card is an extreme closeup of the pitcher who went 4-3 for the Reds the previous year. However, 1962 ended up being his final year in the Majors, as he pitched for the San Diego Padres of the Pacific Coast League in 1963 before retiring at the end of the year. This example has fantastic corners and is perfectly centered. Some light edge chipping near the top left. The blue bottom border has a minor registration issue, but it perfectly complements the beautiful background of the image, giving this card immense eye appeal along with Sisler's stylish glasses.

You won't find a nicer example of this card. And that isn't hyperbole. Not a single example ever seen by PSA has received a higher grade than the card offered here.
