Bold example of catcher Mike Simon's 1914 Cracker Jack issue. Four sharp edges and soft corners provide a nice frame for the portrait, which is centered just slightly west on the canvas. 

While there is a small surface abrasion down the right side of the background near the border, the rest of the red ink has remained dark and bold. There is some product staining typical for the issue, but it remains mostly visible in the borders and on the back, with just a few light areas seen on Simon's uniform.

Thanks to the fine folks at Rueckheim Bros. & Eckstein, the Cracker Jacks offer a look at players from the upstart Federal League among its 144 subjects, including Simon, who spent 1914 and 1915 playing for the St. Louis Terriers and Brooklyn Tip-Tops, respectively, for the final two seasons of his 7-year career.
