Clean and consistent 1963 Topps set, missing just the Pete Rose rookie card for completion.  One of the more important sets of the 1960s, the 1963 Topps set is a condition-sensitive one, not only because of Topps' lackluster quality control but because the multi-colored bottom borders of the cards are subject to chipping with even the slightest bit of handling.  Largely midgrade, this group was assembled with great care to avoid cards with that chipping; as a result the set appears sharp and pleasing to the eye despite being a midgrade set.

A condition breakdown of the set would be as follows: A few NM, with 7% EX-MT, 21% EX, 42% VG-EX, 25% VG, and 4% GOOD, the majority of the lesser-condition cards graded so due to centering or miscut borders.  We took the liberty of submitting eight cards to PSA for grading, the results being as follows: #25 Kaline (PSA VG-EX 4), #200 Mantle (PSA VG-EX 4), #210 Koufax (PSA VG-EX 4), #275 Mathews (PSA VG-EX 4), #300 Mays (PSA VG-EX 4), #345 B. Robinson (PSA EX-MT 6), #353 Williams (PSA EX-MT 6), and #550 Snider (PSA NM 7).  The remaining key cards grade as follows: #108 Wilhelm (VG-EX), #115 Yastrzemski (VG-EX), #120 Maris (VG-EX), #173 Bombers Best (VG), #242 Power Plus (VG), #250 Musial (VG), #320 Spahn (VG-EX), #323 Mazeroski (EX), #340 Berra (VG-EX), #360 Drysdale (VG-EX), #380 Banks (VG), #390 Aaron (VG), #400 F. Robinson (EX), #415 Gibson (VG), #472 Brock (VG), #500 Killebrew (G), #520 Cepeda (EX), #540 Clemente (VG), and #553 Stargell (EX).  An outstanding set, missing just the Pete Rose rookie for completion.  575 cards total.
