Pair of original news service photos from the Deadball Era's most celebrated photographer, Charles Martin Conlon. Both photos feature catcher Les Nunamaker during his years with the New York Yankees where he served as a featured backstop from 1914-17. Based upon Nunamaker's uniform styles in these images the portrait example can be positively attributed to his 1914 season, while the full-length photo hails from 1915-16. Though his Yankees teams never finished higher than 4th, Nunamaker bookended his career with World Series championships, capturing titles in 1912 with the Boston Red Sox and in 1920 with the Cleveland Indians. Both presented photos measure 8" x 10" and remain in excellent condition overall (despite one corner that has fallen away) with typical mild wear to the edges within the white borders. Each example displays Conlon's personal Evening Telegram credit stamping at center, with Conlon's large handwritten identifiers of Nunamaker above, along the top edge.
