Borderless 8" x 10" photograph of future Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax at the conclusion of his second of four career no-hitters. It was the evening of May 11, 1963 and Koufax would square off against the San Francisco Giants at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles. Incredibly, Koufax retired the first 26 batters in succession and was one out away from a perfect game before walking fellow future Hall of Famer Willie McCovey on four pitches. Harvey Kuenn, the very next batter, grounded out to end the game. Two years later, on September 9, 1965, Koufax finished the job and tossed the only perfect game of his storied but short career. Some graniness is present to the candid image which displays quite well despite teammate Wally Moon jogging through the foreground. A touch of typical wear is present to the dark corners and light toning is present on left edge of verso which features large David Sutton credit stamping. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type 1 photo by PSA/DNA.
