The 200 black-and-white images appearing in the H801-8 set are also found in three other sets from 1917, each with bespoke advertising. The cards were intended for this purpose and printed "on spec", with the Boston Store, a prominent Chicago concern, availed themselves accordingly. The dozen cards seen here, are all trimmed and cut down, yet the cards are quite scarce.
Three teams have four cards apiece represented: Jimmy Austin, Armando Marsans, Derril Pratt, And Hank Severeid are shown with the lowly Browns. The Yankees chime in with: W.S. Alexander, Al Walters, Bill Donovan and Ray Fisher. Finally, Fred Coumbe, Steve O'Neill, Joe Boehling and Ivan Howard appear with the Indians. Several have creasing and foxing, while Boehling has had a corner torn off. 12 cards total.
