1916 saw the release of a 200 card set from Felix Mendelsohn of Chicago.  Blank backed, the player selection is admirable and the set fills an important niche at a time when tobacco cards were disappearing. The SGC 2.5 holdered here, in an issue that is thinly graded overall, features Ray Caldwell who had a long professional career but was a big fan of the nightlife, which hampered his career in the majors. A curving crease in the top left corner and one across the middle are the drivers of the grade and the card has a clean back.
