Few cards in the hobby have been as consistently hot as the green background T206 Cobbs; for some time it seemed that a new pricing record was set with each sale.  Such astronomical prices realized are quickly pricing some collectors out of the market, when it comes to attractive specimens.  Seldom does an example hit the market that appears stronger than the assigned grades, as collectors continuously resubmit lower-grade examples hoping to move their cards into the highest holders possible.  This example, however, has had no such resubmission - it remains in an older SGC holder, as the card has been tucked away in a private collection.  Graded in August of 2008, the card has never been resubmitted.  Extremely strong eye appeal is evident, the majority of the condition issues related to what appears to be glue stains on the difficult Sovereign reverse.  Well-centered and with strong print registration, the card does exhibit a few minor technical flaws that reduce the numerical grade, however, it is an extraordinarily attractive card for the grade.
