Old Judge Cabinets are often one of a kind in the hobby. Their size and age make them tough cards to find today and the N173 set includes many well-known baseball personalities among it hundreds of subjects, making them popular targets when offered. Jim Mutrie is certainly an interesting one, having managed the Giants to consecutive "World Series" titles over American Association opponents in the two year span covered by Old Judge's production of the series. Mutrie has multiple poses in the N173's, and in all has four appearances in the SGC pop report for the set (and none with PSA).
This is a typical example from the set in terms of the condition of the mount, which displays the chipping and scarring of 130-plus years of existence. The image is what counts though, despite the technical grade, and the one here is very strong. There is some light dirtying and foxing along the perimeter of the photo, while Mutrie, in his standing pose with bowler hat perched atop his head, is essentially unscathed, with fine details unobscured.
