This SGC 4 of Dizzy Dean identifies the year of issue as 1934 but it was produced as part of a lengthy series of matchbooks issued over a two year period by Diamond Match from 1935-36 that ran to over 150 subjects. The imprecise dating makes deciphering the SGC pop report a challenge but their grand total appears to be eight. PSA has only three in their database, so this is a bit of a tough Hall-of-Fame item. This matchbook had some help via tape on the back, since removed, which held the two fragile halves in what looks to be a suspended state between separated or not. In addition to the staple holes, it appears to also have a pinhole. All is not lost though, as the "action" shot of Dean is in nice shape.
