Delong was one of several Boston based confectioners that issued small sets at the end of Prohibition. They managed to put out a classic set for their lone effort, with 14 of the 24 subjects eventually ending up in the Hall of Fame, an envious batting average by any measure. Mickey Cochrane is one of those 14, lookin' large on the SGC 4.5 shown here. If asked to describe a typical 4.5 graded card, this one might just be the textbook example, with light handling wear incurred over the last ninety years with no obvious flaws, where one corner is a little worse for wear than the other three.
