Post Cereal issued a second set of cereal box back cards in 1962, with a bolder color palette than the one used in 1961. This Clemente in PSA 2 shows off this refreshed look, with a bold red neatline and bright yellow text box setting off a killer shot of Roberto. Post mixed up the color scheme for two National League subjects, one of which was Clemente, and originally printed this card with the blue grid lines used in the AL statistical records before correcting to the proper red. The error was caught early and only about fifteen percent of all the #173 Clemente cards in the set have the blue lines. The grade is easily explained by the lower right corner (lower left in the image here), which avoids Clemente's image. This is a tough variation from a popular set.
