Cuban baseball card issues are among the hardest to track down in the post World War 2 era.  Often issued on thin stock, the cards were marketed to a population that was well under 4% of the United States and then had to survive heat and humidity extremes to survive until today.  The 1946 Propogandas Montiel los Reyes del Deporte set was a multi-sport affair, 180 subjects in length and featured an impressive array of athletes - many still famous today - on cards that measure roughly the same size as 1951-52 Bowman.  To give you an idea of how condition sensitive the set is, PSA has 950 cards from the set in their pop report, with nine 5's and a lone, qualified 6 ranking as the ten highest graded.

This example of Hall of Fame manager Al Lopez is one of nine graded by PSA, with three higher and none grading out better than a 2.5. The 1.5 grade is technically fair, with the card presenting far better than the grade. A top left corner clip is the biggest issue, with the ornate yellow border in fine shape, and the nicely contrasted photo of Lopez shines through.  There is some foxing, as to be expected while the reverse is all there. This scarce and important card is a true survivor.
