Lot Description  

Wonderful news service photo featuring Lou Gehrig crossing home plate during the 1937 World Series. Tragically, this would be Gehrig's final World Series home run as his career would come to an end two short years later. Light, unobtrusive creasing is present to the top-left corner, otherwise photo surface presents beautifully. Verso includes large International News stamping in black, complete with paper caption indicating Gehrig's blast occurred during Game 4, a 7-3 giants victory at the Polo Grounds. Measures 6.5" x 8.5". Encapsulated as a Type 1 photo by PSA.
