It is safe to say that the Brooklyn Dodgers' 1947 season might be the most momentous season in the history of the sport, simply because it's the season the color barrier was broken.  Jackie Robinson took the field on April 15 against the Boston Braves amidst intense scrutiny and unbelievable controversy, and due to the strength of his character, the support of his teammates, and the backing of Ford Frick and Happy Chandler, changed all of American sports for the better.  By the end of the season, Robinson would win the Rookie of the Year (the first one ever awarded) and finished fifth in the voting for Most Valuable Player.  He led the league with 29 stolen bases, belted 12 home runs, and batted .297 under immense pressure from the season's start to finish, leading his team to the World Series.

Presented here is an incredible Brooklyn Dodgers season pass to all games at Ebbets Field for that monumental 1947 season.  Not only would it have potentially seen the debut of Jackie Robinson, but also fellow Hall of Famer Duke Snider (who made his debut two days after Robinson).  It could have potentially seen the Dodgers clinch the pennant at home on September 23 as well.

PSA has graded just seven Brooklyn Dodgers 1947 season passes, just two of which have attained the grade of VG/EX 4.  This one is a beautiful, lightly soiled but otherwise strong, the bright yellow background offsetting the dark printing.  In addition to the Dodgers, the pass also welcomed its bearer to attend games at 25 Dodgers affiliate clubs, the locations and leagues of which are printed on the reverse of the pass.  A truly significant piece, an attractive season pass gaining the bearer admission to the Brooklyn Dodgers' historic 1947 season.
