Key card from the 1934 Goudey issue, the #1 card of Hall of Famer Jimmy Foxx. The first card in any issue is thought to be more condition-sensitive because it is more frequently stored at the top of a pile and is thus more exposed to wear. When the #1 card is a key Hall of Famer like Foxx, it creates a perfect storm for collectors seeking strong examples with solid eye appeal. Such is the case with this example, graded GOOD 2 but with strong centering and a clear image, with corner and edge wear as well as some surface abrasions reducing the numerical grade.
