The 1923 World Series was the first championship for the New York Yankees, the first played at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees would defeat the Giants in a rematch of the prior season. Game 3 was a well-known game, a pitcher's duel between Art Nehf and Sad Sam Jones, the only run being a 7th inning home run by future Yankee manager Casey Stengel, his second of the series. Just the second World Series game played at the House that Ruth Built, the stub has been graded PR 1 (MK), with significant wear evident, along with some adhesive staining on the reverse from scrapbook mounting.
