Tip Top Bread issued a series of regional cards featuring 11 teams in 1947. Totaling 163 subjects and not especially designed to be collected in full, nonetheless it captured a substantial number of players just after the end of World War 2 and is an underappreciated "set" historically. Its method of distribution ensures it runs afoul of modern day rookie card "rules" as it would be chock full of them otherwise. Call this a "pre-rookie" of Yogi Berra then, these cards are hard to find and easily damaged.  Clearly showing signs of youthful "flipping for leaners" or some other misadventures, this well-loved SGC 1 looks to have been removed for a scrapbook at some point in its long life.
