Issued in 1911 by the Los Angeles confectioner Bishop & Company, the set we know today as "E100" was the company's second baseball card issue.  The cards showcase important players from the PCL, with black and white photos of each subject set against a variety of colored backgrounds, with cards found with blue, green, purple, red or yellow backgrounds.  The backs contain a checklist, with five players from each team included in the set.  The cards are differentiated by a notation of the manufacturer on the reverse.  The cards are exceptionally scarce today; it is unusual for a hobby auction to include more than a card or two from the issue.  We are pleased to include a large grouping in this auction, offered as individual lots for the benefit of type collectors.

Outstanding card of Tom Daley, misidentified as "Pete" Daley on the card.  Daley batted .302 with the 1911 Angels before moving to the major leagues with the Philadelphia Athletics of 1912.  His card has been graded VG 3 by SGC, with a vivid yellow background and light overall wear.  Well-centered, with attributes frequently seen in higher-grade cards.
