Issued in 1911 by the Los Angeles confectioner Bishop & Company, the set we know today as "E100" was the company's second baseball card issue.  The cards showcase important players from the PCL, with black and white photos of each subject set against a variety of colored backgrounds, with cards found with blue, green, purple, red or yellow backgrounds.  The backs contain a checklist, with five players from each team included in the set.  The cards are differentiated by a notation of the manufacturer on the reverse.  The cards are exceptionally scarce today; it is unusual for a hobby auction to include more than a card or two from the issue.  We are pleased to include a large grouping in this auction, offered as individual lots for the benefit of type collectors.

PCLL Hall of Famer Walt Mcredie managed for 18 years in the minors, known for consistently testing the color barrier in baseball, often playing exhibition games during spring training against Negro League teams, and signing Chinese-American Lang Akana.  The card has been graded VG 3 by SGC, a relatively high grade for the issue  - of all the E100 cards graded by SGC, just 10 have graded higher.  An outstanding card, one of the highest-graded examples assessed by SGC, depicting a PCL Hall of Famer.
