Issued in packs of Glendale hot dogs, this 28-card set is printed on waxy cardstock, and features members of the Detroit Tigers.  A redemption contest offered World Series tickets and other prizes to the collectors who could return the most cards.  As is the case with most food cards, the issue is extremely condition-sensitive.  The key to the set is undoubtedly Art Houtteman, as he was traded to Cleveland in June, and it is theorized that his card was pulled from distribution right away.

Presented here is a complete, 28-card set, including the elusive Houtteman.  As is the case with most sets, this is a collector-grade grouping, averaging F-P including the graded examples.  Ten of the set's 28 cards have been graded by PSA, as follows: PSA VG 3 (MK - 1 card): Marlowe; PSA GOOD 2 (3 cards): Dropo, Jordan, Priddy; PSA GOOD 2 (MK - 1 card): Mullin; PSA PR 1 (4 cards): Erickson, Garver, Madison, Sullivan; PSA PR-FR 1 (MK - 1 card): Wight.  The remaining 18 cards are ungraded, averaging POOR with a few better.  The cards of Hitchcock, Houtteman and Neiman have had the borders trimmed away.  Regardless of condition, complete Glendale sets seldom become available, the cards are sufficiently scarce that building a set is a process that takes time.  A complete set in any grade, offered all at once, is a prize.  28 cards total.
