Beginning in 1928, the Exhibit Supply Company of Chicago changed the format of its baseball cards, electing to include four players on each card - each of the four players being teammates.  This practice would continue for the entire decade.  The "four-on-one" cards would be printed in a wide range of color combinations of black, brown and blue ink on blue, orange, green, red, white and yellow backgrounds.  Most backs remained uncolored, however, in some rare occasions cards have been found with red or yellow backs.  The 1929-30 issue contained 32 different cards, with postcard backs.

Rare example with a red postcard back, featuring Chalmer Cissell, John Clancy, John Kerr and Willie Kamm of Chicago.  1929-30 Exhibits cards with red or yellow backs are seldom seen; encountering midgrade examples like this is extremely infrequent.  The EX 5 grade relates primarily to chipping at the corners, a common occurrence with tinted Exhibits.  The eye appeal is wonderful, with a clean surface, square corners and an unblemished red back.
