Beginning in 1928, the Exhibit Supply Company of Chicago changed the format of its baseball cards, electing to include four players on each card - each of the four players being teammates.  This practice would continue for the entire decade.  The "four-on-one" cards would be printed in a wide range of color combinations of black, brown and blue ink on blue, orange, green, red, white and yellow backgrounds.  Most backs remained uncolored, however, in some rare occasions cards have been found with red or yellow backs.  The 1929-30 issue contained 32 different cards, with postcard backs.

Difficult red-on-red postcard back card featuring Hall of Famer Earl Averill along with teammates Bib Falk, Ken Holloway and Luke Sewell.  Graded AUTHENTIC by SGC, the card appears to have a slight trim along the right edge.  Still, red-backed cards from this issue are seldom seen (despite the number of them that appear in this auction), and are highly prized in any grade by collectors of Exhibit cards.
