Original 5" x 7" Goodwin & Co. glass plate negative emanating from the "Vermont Find." Pitcher Sam Moffet is depicted in a batting pose with the 1887 Indianapolis Hoosiers of the National League. This is one of several glass plates within the Vermont Find featuring an image yet to be discovered on a card issued by Goodwin & Co. This image is slightly out of focus overall and there is some flaking to the emulsion present along the bottom edge towards the right side. This image also offers a rare look at how the painted studio backgrounds for these photos were implemented, with the metal background supports clearly visible on either side of Moffet's feet.
